After Bali, we spent some time in Tokyo. This city surpassed my expectations and the overall cleanliness, friendliness of the people and unique culture made it a place I made myself a promise to return to one day. Highlights from the trip included exploring the distinct neighbourhoods of Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Daikanyama and Nakameguro; walking through Yoyogi park to the Meiji Shrine; the view of the sprawling city from Tokyo Tower; delicious dinners at Sushi Bar Yasuda, Nishiazabu Gonpachi and Warayakiya; visiting both of Streamer Coffee Co. locations, joining the many young Japanese girls and partaking in the fun of Purikura and singing our hearts out at Karaoke Kan’s Shibuya location, which also boosted a great view over the Golden Gai. Until next time Tokyo.
Some photos from my trip to Bali in August. We visited three areas: trendy Seminyak, cultural Ubud and picturesque Nusa Lembongan. Highlights in Seminyak included a day trip to Uluwatu temple and surfing beach, multiple breakfasts at Sisterfields, and relaxing at the Ize Seminyak rooftop pool. In and around Ubud we enjoyed visiting a number of temples including Tanah Lot, Mengwi and Saraswati, the wonderful spa and pools at Hanging Gardens hotel, the view of rice fields from our secluded villa infinity pool and a (somewhat terrifying) walk through Monkey Forest. On Nusa Lembongan, highlights were fresh coconuts and juices from The Deck Café, our villa view over Jungut Batu bay and swimming in the crystal clear water at nearby Coconut Bay.
